KARACHI, Oct 8: Three ships carrying soyabean meal and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

As a result, seven ships, Oriental Bright, Bunga Terasak, APL Portugal, Corin Thakikos and Kota Tegum to unload and load containers, Olympias, to unload DAP fertilizer and Phenix to offload sugar for Afghanistan were berthed.

Sailing was also active as five ships, Dong He, City of London, Astor, Kota Wajar and Florida departed, while Bunga Terasak, APL Bright, Kota Tegum, Flame, Hyundai Stride and Shalamar are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow as the total tonnage fell to 58,786 tons comprising 11,279 tons of export cargo and 47,507 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Chmroad Mega, with lube base oil, Torge-S, with containers and Mercs Kandy, with 2,700 tons of soyabean meal.
