DERA GHAZI KHAN, Oct 1: The parents of students studying in the Divisional Public School have written letters to the governor and the chief minister drawing their attention to the raise in fee twice this year and demanding a check on the arbitrary increase in fee.

The increase was ordered by newly appointed DCO Nayyar Mahmood who is the chairman of the board of governors of the Divisional Public School and College. The also raised the fee of Government Technical College Dera Ghazi Khan which is also being run by a board of governors.

Meanwhile, one of the board members told Dawn on Wednesday on condition of anonymity that the DCO took the decision to raise fee on his own and thrust it on the board members.

Parents met with the DCO but he could not justify raise in fee. He advised them to form an association to resolve such issues.

They demanded that the board should be dissolved and parents’ representatives included in the new board.
