ISLAMABAD, Oct 1: A simple, but graceful ceremony was held at Postal Staff College, Islamabad, to launch a commemorative postage issued by Pakistan Post in collaboration with China Post.

The ceremony was held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Karakorum Highway at Postal Staff College, Islamabad, on Wednesday.

Minister for Communication Ahmed Ali was the chief guest on the occasion.

Chinese ambassador Zhang Chunxiang and diplomats from the embassies of China and Pakistan and officials of communication ministry, Pakistan Post, National Highway Authority, also attended the ceremony.

In his welcome speech, Chairman, Postal Services Management Board (PSMB), Maj-Gen Agha Masood Hasan (retired) said China and Pakistan postal administration were working day and night to improve ties between the two countries. He said Pakistan Post played a major role in the dissemination of knowledge, growth of commerce and bringing people of the two sovereign states closer.
