KARACHI: Three die in road accidents

KARACHI, Sept 25: Three persons died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Thursday.

A young motorcyclist was knocked down by a speeding minibus at Khayaban-i-Shamsheer in Defence.

Police said that Abdul Samad, 20, was on his motorcycle (KCA-5066), when he was knocked down by a minibus of route (X-10).

The victim was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Another person died in a hit-and-run traffic accident in Saudabad on Friday.

Police said that an unknown victim was knocked down by an unknown vehicle, pedestrians shifted the injured to a nearby traffic police kiosk, from where he was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Another man, Shahzad Habib, 40, was going on his motorcycle, when he was knocked down by a truck (JP-7957) near Akhtar Colony traffic signal.

The victim died on the spot. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination.

Police said that the errant driver escaped from the spot, leaving the vehicle.

BODY FOUND: The body of a man, Abul Kalam, 32, was found in Mangopir on Thursday.

Police said that the victim had been shot and his body was dumped in a deserted place in Mangopir.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination, the police added.
