KARACHI: Altaf urges struggle for objectives

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 24: The London-based chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain, has called upon his supporters and activists not to let personal relationships override party objectives and interests.

Mr Hussain was talking to members of the MQM adhoc committee at the party’s international secretariat in London, in which Dr Imran Farooq, Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and others were also present.

He said the MQM was a movement in which collective interest and objectives were supreme, and that was not the case with political parties whose sole aim was to grab power.

He emphasised the need for self-introspection and struggle for the rights of the downtrodden.

He called for banishing sectarian, ethnic , religious and other forms of hatred to make Pakistan strong and united.
