PESHAWAR, Sept 7: The 16-year-old Sikandar Khan established another national record on third and final day of the 11th National Age Group Championship that concluded at the Qayyum Complex Swimming Pool on Sunday.
Sikandar, established the record in 50 meter butterfly (under-18) with the time of 00:28.45 seconds, beating the previous record held by Fraz Samad, who had covered the same distance in 00:29.43 seconds, which he had established in August 1999 at Karachi.
Syed Mustafa Shah of Punjab also broke the national record in 100 meters back stroke (under-15) by reaching the destination in 01:15.77 seconds to break the previous record of Fraz Samad’s 01:15.92 established by him in August 1999 at Karachi.
Sikandar, who remained pick of the three day competition, broke three national records with sizable margins to prove his undoubted class.
Punjab won the team trophy followed by Sindh and NWFP.
