DERA GHAZI KHAN, Sept 7: An official of Elite Force was killed while a policeman was injured in a shootout with a proclaimed offender in Kot Mubarik area on Sunday.

On a tip-off, Kot Mubarik police raided the hideout of Ishaq Gormani who had killed four people a couple of weeks ago over the out-of-family marriage of his sister.

Ishaq opened fire on seeing police, killing Arif Khan and injuring Hiyat Dareshak.

The exchange of shots between the PO and the police continued till the filing of this report.

Senior officials of the district police reached the spot.

The injured policeman was taken to the Dera Ghazi Khan DHQ Hospital.

Sources said that Ishaq had been an activist of a militant organization and received training for fighting in Afghanistan.
