IT return forms

ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: The government has decided to maintain the old income tax return forms for companies and salaried employees for filing tax returns by end-September.

Well-placed sources told Dawn on Monday the return forms were approved by Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz with some unavoidable changes, which was required under the new income tax law.

The CBR was expected to issue formal notification to this effect on Tuesday.

The sources said that there was no change in the return forms and the last date for filing of returns was September 30, which was laid down in the income tax law and would not be extended.
