BAGHDAD, Aug 31: An American soldier drowned in Iraq and two others suffered slight injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a canal, the army said here on Sunday.
The incident happened early on Saturday near the town of Tikrit some 175kms north of Baghdad, said a spokeswoman.
The latest death takes to 78 the number of US soldiers who have died in accidents or other circumstances.—AFP
