MULTAN, Aug 30: A meeting of the Cotton Crop Management Group has called pest position in the fields “well under control.”

The CCMG meeting was held here on Saturday with Provincial Agriculture Minister Arshad Khan Lodhi in the chair. The department’s senior officials, including secretary Arif Nadeem, were among the participants.

Sources said the presence of non-members at the meeting created an unsavoury situation at one stage, and it was decided that only the notified members of the CCMG could attend its meetings in future.

The CCMG meetings are held at the Central Cotton Research Institute on the Old Shujaabad Road, and usually the CCRI authorities infiltrated non-members to its proceedings.
