MMA asked to stick to stance on LFO

PESHAWAR, Aug 16: Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has advised the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal against showing flexibility on the Legal Framwork Order, saying his party would continue struggle for the revival of democracy in the country, said a press release issued here on Saturday.

Talking to party workers at the party’s secretariat, PML-N provincial chief Pir Sabir Shah said that they should strictly abide by the sayings of Quaid-i-Azam, who attained the beloved country in the name of democracy.

Mr Shah expressed concern that the dream of the Quaid could not be materialised as some of the vested interests and hidden hands hatched conspiracies to derail democratic process in the country every now and then.

The former chief minister urged the MMA leadership to refrain from holding talks with the government on the controversial LFO, saying President Musharraf wanted to establish a presidential form of government in the country.

He advised the MMA leadership to wage a struggle alongside the opposition to pave the way for the rule of law and democracy in the country. His party, he said, would continue efforts for the restoration of the Constitution of the country in its original form.
