Masood jumps in ranking
KARACHI, Aug 7: Newcomer Masood Ahmed climbed eight places to be ranked at 20th in the latest Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Rankings released Thursday.
Masood, who was placed at 27th position in the last ranking, jumped to 20th slots after Red and White Cup National Snooker Championship which concluded last Saturday.
Pakistan’s top four cueists Khurram Agha, Saleh Muhammad, Muhammad Yousuf and Naveen Perwani maintained their positions.
Pakistan number one Khurram won his maiden ranking title in two years after beating Farhan Mirza in the Red and White Cup held at Area Snooker club Gizri is now four points clear of Saleh.
Imran Shahzad of Punjab improved one placing by jumping to 5th spot and relegating Atiq Latif Bakhsh to sixth place.
Top 16 players in the chart have qualified to feature in Latif Masters Snooker while players ranked between 17 to 24 have retained for next year’s National Snooker Championship.
Cueists from 25 to 32 have been eliminated from the PBSA ranking chart.
