U-19 team to leave for Colombo today

LAHORE, Aug 7: A 14-member Pakistan Under-19 cricket team , led by Khalid Latif will leave for Colombo, Sri Lanka on Friday morning.

During the tour, the team will play two three day matches and five limited overs matches.

The team was originally scheduled to play three one-dayers besides two three dayers.

Manager of the team, Sultan Rana said that the tour was the part of the team’s preparations for the next year junior World Cup to be held in Bombay in February this year.

Asked if one tour was enough for the preparations, Sultan said that although more competitions were needed, but he had no exact future plan about the team.

Sultan said that although he was with the junior team for the last one year yet he was not a permanent manager of it, therefore, he could not say about the future.

Khalid Latif (captain), Jahangir Mirza, Shahid Yousaf (vice- captain),Yasir Arafat, Shahid Sidique, Afaq Rahim, Salman Qadir, Naeem Ahmad (wicketkeeper), Muhammad Altaf, Adeel Malik, Aamir Yousuf, Hidayatullah, Nasir Jamshed, Riaz Afridi.

Manager: Sultan Rana. Coach: Aaqib Javed.

Itinerary:

Aug 9: Arrival in Colombo.

Aug 12: One-day practice match against Sri Lanka Under-17 at Pandura, Esplarade, Colombo.

Aug 13: One-day practice match against Sri Lanka Under-17 at Panadrua, Espianade,Colombo.

Aug 15-17: three-dayer vs Sri Lanka Under-19 at Nondescripts Cricket Club, Columbo.

Aug 20-22: three-dayer vs Sri Lanka Under-19 at Welegedera Stadium, Kurunegala.

Aug 24: first one-dayer at Uyanwatte Stadium, Matara.

Aug 27: secondone dayer at Uyanwatte Stadium, Matara.

Aug 29: third one-dayer at Galle International Stadium.

Aug 31: fourth one-dayer at P Sara Stadium, Colombo.

Sept 2: fifth one-dayer at P Sara Stadium, Colombo.

Sept 3: arrival in Karachi.
