51 players invited for U-19 trials
KARACHI, Aug 7: Sindh Cricket Association (SCA) on Thursday invited 51 Karachi boys to appear in the trials at National Stadium on Saturday at 2.00pm.
After the trials the Karachi squad for PCB Inter-regional Under-19 Cricket Championship beginning from Aug 17 will be picked.
Karachi will play their opening game against Sialkot at Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Park in Steel Town.
In a press statement, the SCA said that if any cricketer who has performed well in PCB U-19 inter-district tournament and whose name has inadvertently been left out is advised to also appear in the trials along with his performance record and report to either Aftab Baloch or Asif Ahmed at NSK.
SCA, intially, had requested Karachi City Cricket Association to submit the names of their 35 boys for the trials but they did not delivered the list after Wednesday’s deadline.
Following players have been invited for trials:
Opening batsmen: Fahad Iqbal, Khalid Latif, Khurram Manzoor, Mohammed Fahim, Rizwan Khan, Agha Shafiq, Hasan Raza Jr, Wasim Abbas, Talib Ali, Ramiz Raja, Daniyal Ahsan, Khuram Ebrahim, Nasir Aziz.
Middle-order batsmen: Asad Shafiq, Asadullah Sumeiri, Fazal Patel, Fawwad Alam, Naveed Khan, Mansoor Ali, Mohammad Khalid, Waqas Haroon, Shiraz Ishaq, S.M. Raheel, Ali Asad, Zeeshan Jamil, Tariq Murad, Irfan Ansari.
Fast bowlers: Adeel Malik, Faraz Ahmed Khan, Naseer Khan, Saeed Khan, Sharif Asadullah, Uzair-ul-Haq, Sher Ali, Tabish Khan.
Spinners: Azam Hussain, Humayun Alamgir, Mohammad Ali Zafar, Noman Alvi, Raheel Waris, Mohammad Rafiq, Ammad Rafiq, Aamir Azam, Asif Hameed, Mohsin Akhtar, Shamir Khatak, Asad Butt, Azeem Ashraf, Amanullah Khan.
Wicket-keepers: Naeem Ahmed Khan and Naveed-ul-Haq.—APP
