3 Kashmiris convicted

NEW DELHI, Aug 2: Three men from held Kashmir were convicted on Saturday under India’s tough anti-terrorism act on charges they planned attacks in New Delhi, the Press Trust of India reported.

The three men — Sheikh Sajjad, Feroze Ahmad Sheikh and Meharajuddin Peer — were arrested at a railway station in the Indian capital May 9 on arrival from Bombay, the news agency said.

Prosecutors said the three were carrying dynamite and detonators and planned to carry out attacks in the capital. —AFP
