Dawn Report

SUKKUR, July 7: Five persons were killed and many others injured in rain-related incidents in the interior of Sindh on Monday.

A woman and a boy were electrocuted in Khairpur district, two boys were killed in Dadu district after walls collapsed on them and a man was killed in Sukkur district.

The rains disrupted the telecommunication and drainage systems and caused traffic jams and prolonged power breakdowns.

Low-lying areas were submerged by rainwater and scores of houses were washed away.

Five villages, a mosque, a high school and a graveyard came under water after a 50-foot-wide breach occurred in the Korai Wah near Pano Akil.
