PESHAWAR: Security beefed up in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, July 5: The Frontier Constabulary was called in to supplement the police force here on Saturday, securing mosques and imambargahs against occurrence of any untoward incident in the wake of the Quetta killings.

Paramilitary vehicles patrolled the city roads besides to support the police pickets established at many mosques and imambargahs to offer greater protection during prayers.

Capital City Police chief Tanvirul Haq Sipra told Dawn that the police had called for deployment of extra security personnel as the situation was quite alarming after the terrorist attack on Quetta mosque.
