KARACHI: Saddar Town wants due share in property tax

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 3: The Saddar Town administration has demanded its total due share of property tax so that it can accelerate the pace of development works.

At a post-budget press briefing to newsmen on Thursday, Nazim Saddar Town, Mohammad Farooq Fariya, said that the Town did not receive its due share of the tax amounting to Rs320 million in the past.

He said the town would be provided Rs50 million this year on this account, which he termed a positive development as it would enable the town administration to focus on road-building and sanitation works.

He categorically stated that there would be no compromise on the issue and urged that the PT collected from the town must be transferred to it. “We would not accept the equal distribution formula,” he said.
