Microsoft invited for investment

ISLAMABAD, June 9: Information Technology Minister Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari on Monday invited Microsoft, a software company, to invest in the country in a mutually-beneficial projects.

“Pakistan is a country with rich information technology- enabled human resource and a string of high-class software development houses and firms outsourcing IT work for multinationals all over the world,” Mr Leghari observed at a meeting with the visiting Microsoft vice-president Emre Berkin.

The meeting was also attended by state minister for IT Raza Hayat Harraj, IT secretary Khalid Saeed and other officials of the ministry.

Mr Berkin was assisted in the talks by Microsoft general manager (South Gulf) Aimulla and the company’s country head in Pakistan, Jawwadur Rehman.
