LAHORE, June 6: Steaming heat continued in the city and other parts of the country for the sixth day running on Friday.
Temperature dropped by three degrees C in Sibbi, which was nonetheless the hottest place in the country with 51.8 degrees C. It was 51.5 degrees C in Moenjodaro, 51 degrees C in Larkana and 50 degrees C in Jacobabad and Rohri.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature increased from Thursday’s 45 degrees C to 45.8 degrees C. The minimum temperature was 25.5 degrees C with 21 per cent humidity in the morning and 17 per cent in the evening.
Power breakdowns and short water-supply in many localities added to the people’s problems.
The local meteorological office has forecast no relief in the near future, saying it will remain hot and dry in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours. However, it will remain partly cloudy in Rawalpindi, Malakand, Hazara, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit and Skardu.
