KARACHI: Tribunal dismisses poll plea


KARACHI, June 3: An election tribunal comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim of the SHC dismissed the election petition of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) candidate Shabbir Abu Talib against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement MPA Abdul Aziz Bantwa, as the petitioner could not prove his allegation.

The MMA candidate had challenged the results of the PS-110, Karachi, alleging rigging.

M.S Qureshi advocate represented the petitioner while Kazi Khalid Ali appeared for the respondent.

Another tribunal adjourned the hearing till June 10 of a petition by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidate, Prof Faheemuddin Siddiqui, against the MMA’s Asadullah Bhutto, in which he challenged results of NA-253.—PPI
