Rivalry claims life

SHEIKHUPURA, May 3: A man was gunned down while two others sustained bullet injuries in Dera Saranwala early on Saturday.

According to police, Inayat Masih, his two sons Khadim and Shaukat and brother Barkat were sleeping in their house.

Three gunmen, later one of them identified as Arif Masih, entered their house and opened fire on the sleeping men. Shaukat was killed on the spot while Khadim and Inayat sustained injuries. They were taken to a local hospital from where they were shifted to the Mayo Hospital, Lahore.

Police claimed that old enmity was the motive behind the killing.

Bhikhi police have registered a case against Arif and two unidentified men.

In another incident in Rehmanpura locality of Farooqabad four men shot and injured Ghulam Abbas over a monetary dispute.
