Two sentenced to death in murder case

TAXILA, April 29: Additional Sessions Judge Mustafa Tanveer has sentenced to death two convicts for killing four people.

The two convicts, Saleem and Tayyab, were also fined Rs50,000 each, while co-accused Mushtaq and Anjum were sentenced to life-imprisonment with a fine of Rs20,000 each.

Three other accused in the case, Rafeeq, Safeer and Gulab, were granted bail.

According to the case registered on April 18, 1995 with Taxila Police Station, the accused — Saleem, Tayyab, Mushtaq, Anjum, Umar Zaman, Rafeeq, Safeer and Gulab — had killed Khalid, Nadeem, Bilo and Ishaq over some monetary and property dispute in Jamilabad.

The case hearing continued in different courts of Taxila as and Rawalpindi for last eight years.

HOUSE LOOTED: Some thieves have looted a house at Hassanabdal.

Akhtar Hussain told police that he was on duty, and his wife was also not home, when some thieves entered his house and looted cash, valuables and gold ornaments.

Hassanabdal police have registered a case.
