LARKANA, April 29: The secretary, district regional transport authority, Larkana, Assadullah Abor, on Tuesday notified that all buses and mini-buses plying on different routes in Larkana district should charge 37 paisas per km as fare in accordance with the recent notification of the ministry of transport, government of Sindh.

He directed the traffic police to make sure that the transporters did not violate the decision.

The secretary said that the transporters make sure that fare lists were displayed in their vehicles and the passengers were not overcharged.

VILLAGER KILLED: A villager, Immauddin Brohi, was killed on the spot and three others were injured when a gang of dacoits opened fire on a tractor trolley carrying buffaloes, near Gairilo town, late Monday night.

The injured villagers were admitted at the Taluka Hospital Dokri.

The DPO, Larkana, Sultan Ahmed Khwaja, is on the lookout of the dacoits along with a heavy police posse.

Police said that the dacoits had escaped towards the hilly area of Warah.

MAN KILLED: A man, Mohammed Karim Jagirani, was shot dead by two men, Ghulam Hussain and Nadir, in the Wali Mohammed Jagirani village in the jurisdiction of the Mahota police station on Tuesday.

Both the men had objected to Karim constructing a wall close to their house. They fled immediately after killing him, said police.

MAULANA ABBASI: Maulana Jan Mohammad Abbasi, Naib Amir of the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), who died in Karachi after a protracted illness on Monday, was laid to rest in the Abu Bakr Graveyard, Larkana, on Tuesday.

His elder son, Qurban Ali Abbasi, accompanied the body of his father from Karachi to Larkana, where his relatives and hundreds of JI workers were already waiting.
