HYDERABAD, April 26: Hundreds of sacked workers of the Faran Sugar Mills, Shaikh Bhirkio, took out a procession and staged a sit-in outside the mill gate here on Saturday.

Led by union council Nazim Mir Abdul Karim Talpur and Naib Nazim Altaf Nizamani, the protesters were demanding reinstatement of the sacked employees. They also demanded removal of what they called anti-workers officers of the mill.

A heave contingent of the police was deployed near the gate to avoid any untoward incident.

Talking to the protesters, the Nazim criticised the mill management for sacking 426 permanent employees without any reason.
