PESHAWAR, April 25: Two policemen were killed here on Friday when they were returning to Mathra police station in an official car.

Officials said sub-inspector Shahz Ali Khan and head-constable Zarghun Shah were coming back to the police station after visiting a regional office of the Peshawar Bureau of Investigation, situated on main Mathra road.

When they reached a flour-mill, one kilometre away from the police station, armed men sprayed a volley of bullets on their car. Both officials received severe bullet injuries and died on the spot. Police have so far not arrested anyone in this connection.
