DUBAI, April 23: The Pakistan Association, Dubai, in cooperation with the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, distributed free air tickets to 100 Pakistani amnesty seekers at the Pakistan Sports and Recreation Centre here on Monday.

The air tickets were distributed by Tariq Masood, Counsellor Welfare and Najeebur Rehman Abbasi, Commercial Counsellor from the Pakistan Consulate. “We have already distributed over 300 tickets to amnesty seekers since the UAE government announced the general pardon”, said a spokes person for the association, adding that this was a routine procedure for the past three weeks. The spokesperson further said that the association had carried out this gesture due the generous contributions by the members.

All amnesty seekers, who have already been issued outpasses, are required to appear for an interview conducted by senior committee members following which they are issued receipts that allow them to collect air tickets to any destination in Pakistan and fly aboard any of the three Pakistani airlines.

The Pakistan Association has asked all amnesty seekers to obtain their outpasses from the consulate before April 30 so that the ticketing procedures are simplified. “the association hopes to distribute free tickets to all the amnesty seekers who approach them”, said the spokesperson.—Dawn / KT News Service
