Lawyers condemn colleague’s murder

Dawn Report

SUKKUR, April 16: The court proceedings were suspended on Wednesday on the request of the local Bar association as lawyers condemned the murder of one of their colleague, Ashraf Khan, who was killed a day ago in the premises of the Sindh High Court in Karachi.

In a protest meeting, presided over by president of the Sukkur High Court Bar Association Nizamuddin Baloch, lawyers termed the murder an act of terrorism, saying that it was aimed at disrupting the legal process in courts.

They demanded of the government to hold the trial of persons accused in the case in an anti-terrorism court.

LARKANA: The Larkana High Court Bar Association has demanded of the government to pay adequate compensation to the heirs of Ashraf Khan.

The managing committee of the district Bar association, in its meeting held here on Wednesday, called for provision of adequate security to the lawyers’ community.
