KHAIRPUR, April 14: District Nazim Nafisa Shah has said political interference is affecting the performance of the Khairpur district government.
Talking to office-bearers of press clubs of the district at a luncheon party hosted by her here on Monday, Ms Shah said non-cooperation by the district officers had hampered the completion of development projects.
She said the leaders of some political parties had got their favourite officers appointed at different district departments.
She blamed the district coordination officer for creating hurdles in carrying out development works.
The district Nazim alleged the education department officers were misusing their powers and were making transfers and postings.
She also expressed her disappointment over the performance of the health department and regretted two polio cases were detected in the district. More case of the disease could be found if an impartial inquiry was conducted, she added.
FOUR INJURED: Four men were injured in a clash over a minor dispute in Maula Bux and Fazalabad villages near Thari Mirwah on Sunday.
The injured were identified as Mohammad Umar, Mohammad Yasin, Mohammad Ilyas and Shahzado.
ELECTED: The election of the Amnesty International, Ranipur group, was held here the other day.
Zahid Hussain Pirzada, Muzaffar Solangi and Attaur Rehman were elected the president, secretary and the treasurer, respectively.
Abdul Qayoom Shaikh, Zulfiqar Talpur, Saeed Rid and Nooruddin Shaikh were elected members of the executive committee.
