SUKKUR: Two killed, 9 injured in accident

SUKKUR, April 11: Two women were killed and nine others injured in an accident on the link road, near Daraza Sharif, on Friday.

A car (T-6320), coming from Gambat, and a pickup, coming from Ranipur, collided head on as a result of which two women, Hajani Ujjan and Noor Khatoon Ujjan, were killed on the spot and nine other people injured. The car driver was also injured but he escaped immediately.

All the injured were taken to the Ranipur Hospital.

KARO-KARI: A man, Sher Mohammad, 35, was gunned down by armed men on the pretext of Karo-kari in his house in the jurisdiction of the Gar-hi Shahu police station, Shikarpur district, on Thursday night.

An FIR was registered against seven men under section 302.

SCHOOLS: Acting district Nazim, Sukkur, Iqbal Dawood, has directed the EDO, education, to hold an investigation against those private schools which are charging excessive fees.

The Nazim asked the EDO to complete the investigation and present the report to the district Nazim in seven days so that action could be initiated against such schools.

The Nazim pointed out the one of those private school, having over 3,000 students, was charging admission fee every year but the education department had not taken any notice of the illegal practice.

He also pointed out that some private schools were charging computer fee though they did not have computer laboratories and did not impart any kind of computer education to their students.
