PESHAWAR, March 20: The Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao) has condemned US attack on Iraq and termed it a naked aggression against innocent people.

PPP-S MPA Sikandar Khan Sherpao in a statement issued on Thursday, said that the US and its allies had launched the military operation against Iraq in defiance of UN Security Council and world opinion.

It was unfortunate that despite the withdrawal of resolution from UN Security Council and not giving proper time to debate the issue, the US launched attack on Iraq, he opined.

Mr Sherpao said that most of the UNSC members had adopted bold and principled stance to avert war. Diplomacy never ended and in all circumstances it should have be given a chance to resolve the dispute, he added.

The PPP-S leader deplored US designs of regime change through force, saying that such steps would lead to unhealthy traditions in international politics.

He dubbed it as a negation to international sovereignty.

He said that the US attack on Iraq would bring destruction not only to the Iraqi people but it would cause sufferings all over the world.
