Extraordinary security in Jacobabad

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, March 20: Extraordinary security measures have been taken at the Shahbaz Air Base in Jacobabad in the wake of the US-led attack on Iraq.

It was learnt that the security agencies had put in place apparatus for extra vigilance and surveillance after hostilities against Iraq ensued on Thursday morning.

Hundreds of paramilitary troops, including police, carrying automatic weapons, had been deployed on rooftops of houses near the base.

No one is being granted passage to the air base while strict checking and body search is being carried out.

The base is exclusively under the use of the United States forces, and security measures are also being taken by the personnel of the US air force there.
