KARACHI, March 5: Five ships carrying containers and to load project cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 81,483 tons comprising 8,680 tons of export tonnage and 72,303 tons of import cargo including 50,283 tons of oils was handled.
Owing to slow arrivals, berthing activity was modest as four ships were allotted berths. They are: APL Venezuela, Maerkur Sea to unload and load containers, Ceram Sea to offload crude oil and Monte Rosa to offload tallow.
Sailings on the other hand were brisk as seven ships, Kota Wangasa, Pretty River, Al-Chiba, Leyi, Tarpin Clipper, Shirvan and Pergamos departed, while Panos-G, APL Venezuela, Monte Rosa, Fu Qing Shan, Hyundai Future and Ceram Sea are due to sail out on Thursday.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Mar Challenger, Bunga Mastiga, Al-Manakh, with containers and Beluga Independence to load project cargo.
KARACHI, March 5: An oil tanker, Difko Chaser, carrying diesel oil was allotted berth at Fotco oil Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Wednesday.
Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as six ships were remained busy in offloading general cargo, furnace oil, diesel oil, chemicals and coal.
A cargo volume of 37,022 tons consisted of imported goods including 17,000 tons of diesel oil and 7,591 tons of coal was handled.
Sailings were also active as two ships, United Venture and Stolt Sea sailed out.
Two ships, Nedlloyed Damitta and Iran Saedi were expected to take berths at QICT and Steel Jetty.
