KARACHI, Feb 28: The Southern Regional Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) conducted a seminar on “Information Technology (IT) Risk Assessment and Management” earlier this week.

A statement from ICAP says that Mr. Waqar A.Khan, partner, Fordes Rhodes Sidat Hyder & Co discussed IT risks, IT risk perception and also elements of risk assessment, assessing risks based on key business process and a number of questions arising as a result of fast growing information technology.

Mr. Hussein Hassanali Haji, President CISA, CIA, ISACA, Karachi Chapter highlighted the need of IT risk management, IT security reasons for not implementing risk management widely, process of risk management, steps in risk management, IT governance, ISO 17799-IS-Best Practice and why auditors should care about IT risk management.
