EU to decide after US evidence

ATHENS, Feb 1: Greece, which holds the European Union presidency, said on Saturday it would not decide how to proceed over Iraq until it had heard what the United States says is new evidence that Baghdad possesses weapons of mass destruction.

Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou told reporters he would travel to New York on Feb 5 to hear Washington’s information and would discuss the crisis over Iraq with United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan.—AFP
