KARACHI, Jan 29: Six ships carrying palm oil and soyabean seeds are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was modest owing to slow arrivals and as a result, three ships, Kota Wijaya, APL Jeddah to unload and load containers and Al-Cyonida to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of four.
The ships, which departed were led by Sima Bahar, Kota Wijaya, Honor River and Mar Challenger, while NCC Najd, Al-Cyonida, APL Jeddah, PONL Thekwini, Hyundai Future and Banglar Kallol are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 88,716 tons comprising 18,875 tons of export cargo including 3,041 tons of rice and 69,841 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Golden Far East, with 6,500 tons of palm oil, Hyundai Future and Kota Teraju, with containers, Stefano Juliano, to load 20,500 tons of molasses, Al-Maqwa, with 56,000 tons of high speed diesel, and Mercs Kirinda, with 2,300 tons of soyabean seeds.
