Robber killed in encounter

SANGHAR, Dec 12: A robber, Bashir Khoso, was killed in an encounter with the police behind Rahat Hotel here on Thursday.

The robber had come to Sarafa Bazaar with his accomplices apparently to commit a robbery.

Some shopkeepers recognized him and informed the police.

Two policemen rushed to the spot on a motorcycle, followed by a heavy contingent of the Sanghar police.

The robbers were surrounded near Rahat Hotel, where an encounter took place between them and the police.

In the exchange of fire, a robber, Bashir was shot dead while the other, who was identified as Akbar Nizamani alias Lerro, escaped. According to the police, the dead robber was involved in more than a dozen robbery cases.
