Belgium trade team to visit in February

KARACHI, Nov 23: A trade delegation of Belgium will visit Pakistan in February for identifying the trade opportunities, trade commissioner of Belgium Abid Hussain Said here on Saturday.

During a meeting with senior vice president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Salim Kapadia, he said before the visit of the delegation, a catalogue exhibition will be held at the Chamber with the cooperation of the Belgium Consulate in the middle of January. This exhibition will help inform the local businessmen about the exportable goods of Belgium, company profiles and contacts so that they could hold direct meetings with the person concerned during the visit of the delegation.

Abid Hussain said his sole intention was to increase the Belgium- Pakistan trade manifold and was willing to extend every sort of cooperation in this regard.

He said he had received some more enquiries and information, which he would keep on sending to the KCCI so that it could pass on to its members. He said there was much room for improvement in the facility, which was important to increase the trade relations between the trading communities of the two countries.

Earlier, Salim Kapadia thanked the trade commissioner for selecting the KCCI for catalogue exhibition and demanded that the Chamber be informed about the importable items of Belgium so that the exporters at this end could also explore such avenues and help increase the trade volume between the two countries.—APP
