Zohaib and Zeeshan excel

RAWALPINDI, Nov 12: Wasim Akram XI scored a thumping eight-wicket victory over Shoaib Akhtar XI on the opening day of the First Twin City Cricket Academy Under-15 Championship at the Rawalpindi Stadium Tuesday.

Batting first, Shoaib XI put on 105 for six off their 20 overs, a total that was easily overhauled by Wasim XI in 16.5 overs for the loss of just two wickets.

Zohaib was the chief scorer with a well-struck 40 while Zeeshan Raja cracked an equally good 41 in Wasim XI’s romp.

For Shoaib XI, Zahid Mansoor topscored with 45. Tahir Shahzad claimed three for nine.

Summarised scores:

Shoaib Akhtar XI 105-6 in 20 overs (Zahid Mansoor 45; Tahir Shahzad 3-9);

Wasim Akram XI 108-2 (Zohaib Ahmed 40, Zeeshan Raja 41).
