TCP cotton sales
KARACHI, Nov 8: The Price Evaluation Committee of Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) on Friday sold 19,500 bales of cotton to local companies.
The corporation had invited tenders for the local sale of 22,000 bales of cotton crop 2001-2002. The tenders were opened on November 5, 2002.
The highest offer given by M/s Naseem Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. Karachi for 1,500 bales of cotton grade-II (plus) with staple length of 1-1/16” at the rate of Rs2,006 per maund was accepted.
The TCP accepted the bids offered by the same firm for 2,500 and 5,200 bales of grade-II and grade-III (plus) with staple length of 1-1/16” at Rs1,952 and Rs1,890 per maund respectively, while for 500 bales of grade-II (plus) with staple length of 1-1/32” the firm offered Rs1,926 per maund which was also accepted.
The Abbas Spinning & Weaving, Karachi, offered Rs1,860 and Rs1,876 per maund for 1,500 bales each of grade-III (plus) with staple length of 1-1/32” and grade-III with staple length of 1-1/16” was accepted.
The corporation also accepted the highest bid from the same firm for 6,200 bales of grade-III having staple length of 1-1/32” at Rs1,855 per maund.
An offer of Rs1,855 per maund by M/s. Jullundur (Pvt) Ltd for 600 bales of grade-III, 1-1/32” was accepted by the TCP.—APP
