HYDERABAD: Two killed in accident

HYDERABAD, Nov 1: Two persons, including a young boy, were killed and four others were injured after a passenger bus plunged into the Phulelli Canal near Seri on Friday.

The accident occurred after the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle.

The names of the deceased are: Abdul Qadir, son of Arif Kunbhar, a resident of Talpur Colony, Tando Mohammad Khan, and Shamdar, son of Roshan Kolhi, resident of Tando Mohammad Khan.

The injured included Ms Bhagal, Majid, Meri, and Hakeri.

In another incident, a 17-year-old boy, Adil was injured after being hit by a tractor near Khyber.

CLARIFICATION: The director, health services, Sindh, Dr Qadir Bux, in a statement issued here on Friday, denied the reports published in a section of the press that he had blamed officials of the Expanded Programme for Immunization for framing wrong policies due to which polio virus spread in Khairpur district.
