‘NA results notified’

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: The Election Commission of Pakistan Wednesday clarified that it has issued notifications of all the returned candidates of national assembly except those of NA-262 and NA-263 where re-election will be held next month.

The EC has issued these notifications after the disposal of all the pending cases with election tribunals of Lahore High Court and Sindh High Court.

The EC also clarified that re-polling in NA-262 Killa Abdullah, PB-12 Killa Abdullah-II and PB-13 Killah Abdullah-III will be held on Nov 22 while re-polling in some of the polling stations in NA-263 and PB-14 Loralai will be held on Nov 2.

Regarding results of provincial assemblies in Punjab and the NWFP, the EC said notifications of returned candidates had been issued.

In Sindh, cases relating to PS-62 Tharparkar-III and PS-103 Karachi-IV are being heard by the Commission at Karachi on Oct 31 whereas judgment in the case of PS-83 Sanghar-VI has been reserved, which would be announced on Thursday.

The EC stated that the case of PS-30 Khairpur-II had been fixed for hearing before the Commission at Karachi on Oct 31.

In PS-118 Karachi-XXX, recounting of votes has been ordered by the Commission and recounting is in progress by the returning officer concerned. —APP
