KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Kuwait authorities on Sunday arrested a Kuwaiti national for raping and brutally murdering a seven-year-old Pakistani girl, Kareema.

Source told Dawn that law-enforcement agencies apprehended a 22-year-old Kuwaiti, who was also wanted in several other cases.

The accused is reported to have confessed the kidnapping and killing of Kareema after raping her.

Kareema’s father Abdul Rahim told Dawn that the authorities would give the rapist an exemplary punishment.

Kareema, daughter of an Imam, Abdul Rahim, was kidnapped two weeks ago in front of her home when she was buying ice cream from a nearby shop. She was raped and killed later.
