KARACHI: Repair of Korangi Road urged

Published October 28, 2002

KARACHI, Oct 27: The city government has failed to address the civic problems of Karachi, said the central executive committee of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement here on Sunday.

In a press statement, the CEC members drew the attention of the city Nazim towards the battered main road of Korangi Industrial Area.

They deplored that none from the city government or the town administration paid attention to the difficulties faced by millions of people working and passing through the area.

They said millions of rupees were being paid by the industrialists of the area but no facility was being provided to them.

They said stormwater drains were not cleaned, dacoity and other incidents were on the rise, and loadshedding coupled with erratic water supply was affecting the production of the factories.

They appealed to the provincial government to take notice of the failure of the city government and to direct the town administration to take immediate steps for repair the road.
