ISLAMABAD, Oct 26: The People’s Party Parliamentarians and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Friday said the discussion going on between them regarding the formation of future government would reach at some conclusion by Monday.

“We will make some announcement by that day,” President of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, Shah Ahmed Noorani told a joint press conference which he addressed at the residence of Qazi Hussain Ahmed with PPP President, Makhdoom Amin Fahim.

The JUP chief, who is heading a five-member committee nominated by the MMA for holding talks with other parties, said they also discussed the formation of governments in the NWFP, Balochistan and Sindh.

However, on the question of formation of government at the Centre, they still had to iron out a number of issues but did not elaborate that what they had to sort out for forming a coalition government.

They did not say anything about which party should get the top slot or they had made any headway in this regard.

Maulana Noorani dispelled an impression that there was a deadlock on the question of the prime ministership. He said both the sides were demonstrating the spirit of accommodation and adjustment and there was no deadlock.

The prime minister could be taken from any party. “It is also possible that the future government will be headed by MMA,” he added.

Makhdoom Amin said the talks were held in a very cordial atmosphere and these would continue over the weekend till the final announcement.

Apart from Shah Ahmed Noorani, Liaquat Baloch, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri and Pir Ijaz Hashmi were present at the talks. From the PPP side Raja Pervez Ashraf, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani and Nafees Siddique assisted the party president.
