KARACHI, Oct 26: Condemning the killing incident of Panjgur in Mekran, the Baloch Rabita Ittefaq Tehrik (BRIT) has called for a high-level commission to probe into the causes of the incident in which innocent people were killed by the law enforcement agencies.

Talking to Dawn, BRIT chief Prince Mohyuddin Baloch said it was not the first incident ion which that law enforcement agencies were involved in shootouts, claiming lives of innocent people.

He said the incident of Gwadur was still fresh in the mind of the people, when a security agency had opened fire on a crowd in which innocent people were killed.

Expressing concern over the Panjgur incident, the he said: “It appears that security agencies consider the people of Mekran as subject people who do not deserve any kind of leniency.

He said the people of Mekran had been complaining of ill-treatment meted out to them by the security agencies and they had also registered their protests by holding rallies; yet no serious step was taken to control the illegal activities of the security agencies.
