LAHORE, Oct 25: Journalists had to wait almost two hours when the manager of the Pakistan cricket team did not bother to turn up at a scheduled press conference, held at Gaddafi Stadium Friday.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) media cell had organised  a press conference for which a formal announcement had  been made a week ago. Skipper Waqar Younis and manager Brig Khawaja Mohammad Nasir were supposed to address the media.

Waqar was on time, but Nasir despite repeated calls from the media cell did not reach the stadium till 12.30pm.  When journalists raised a hue and cry, the media cell decided to call Waqar at 12.45pm without explaining the reason for Nasir’s absence.

Journalists were surprised over the irresponsible attitude of such a senior PCB official  who had personally reprimanded couple of players for being late for matches during the series against Australia, and had accused senior players of cowardice for not facing the media, but now himself avoided the press.
