KARACHI, Oct 25: The Chief Secretary, Sindh, K.B. Rind, on Friday put on hold the right-sizing of 73 employees of the Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC).

He has directed Industries Secretary that the case be kept pending until deviation from rules and regulations of right-sizing in government departments/institutions is clarified. This will help S&GAD to review the whole matter, he maintained.

A letter with the signature of Secretary Services Ghulam Sarwar Khero on it, said that a delegation of SSIC union, led by its President Mohammed Ashiq, called on the Chief Secretary and complained that on the one hand employees were being sacked in the name of right-sizing while on the other new appointments were being made with move-overs and promotions.

The officials told Mr Rind that Rs3.3 million had been allocated for the reconstruction work but more funds and time would be required for the additional work.
