MINGORA, Oct 22: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Monday pledged to demand the rights of the NWFP from the federal government, specially the royalty of electricity, estimated to be in billions of rupees.

The MMA would revise the health policy and take action to lower prices of the daily-use commodities and petroleum products, provincial general secretary of Jamaat-i-Islami and deputy general secretary of the alliance, Serajul Haq, an elected provincial assembly member, told Dawn.

He expressed his concern over the delay in transfer of power to the  elected representatives and termed it harmful for the country.

He asked the rulers to extend full cooperation and transfer power to the public representatives, so that they were able to fulfil their commitments with the people.

He said the government had formed a health policy some six months back, which was yet to be implemented and the MMA government would take serious action in this regard. He said the hospitals were crowded due to lack of such a policy.

He said the general transport service would be revived as it was a facility for the people that had been withdrawn.
