KARACHI, Oct 13: The secretary-general of the Khadmin-i-Millat Pakistan has called upon Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro to help end water supply rotation in residential areas of the Gulzar-i-Hijri housing scheme.

In a statement on Sunday, he said weekly water supply closure in Metroville-III, Paradise A-1, Deluxe Homes and other adjoining localities should be terminated and water supply duration in these localities be extended to 10 hours from eight. He also called for an effective increase in pumping pressure to restore the former system of water supply to residents of these localities.

The residents, he said, were facing an acute shortage of water, but the Water Board was increasing their difficulties by undertaking new experiments for supply. He urged the Sindh governor to help solve the problem of the area residents.

He also urged the governor and the secretary education to order removal of garbage dump adjacent to Sharfabad School. — APP
